Point Richmond Acoustic presents Janet Klein and her Parlor Boys

We have been fans of Janet Klein since, well -  since forever. With her sleek bob haircut (usually with a flower placed just so), vintage fashion sense, striking looks and artfully customized ukulele, Los Angeles native Janet Klein might seem at first to be a simple novelty act, a 21st-century hipster "ironically" recreating the subtly naughty looks of a fin-de-siecle French postcard. Then she opens her mouth to sing and it's clear: Janet Klein is the real thing. Bearing an ever-expanding repertoire of, as she puts it, "obscure, lovely and naughty songs from the 1910's, 20's and 30's," Janet Klein is a musical archeologist hiding in the body of an F. Scott Fitzgerald heroine.

Her talent for finding lovely songs is only exceeded by her gift for attracting other fine musicians who are steeped in and dedicated to the songs of the first half of the 20th Century. So prepare yourself to be thoughly charmed by something completely different. Visit for videos of this most unique chanteuse.

As if that were not enough, we are thrilled to report that the Bay Area's own master of Tin Pan Alley, Meredith Axelrod opens the show. Don't miss this spectacular evening of retro-inspired fun!
