Regional Training on Youth Engagement


Hosted by the Minnesota Regional Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Prevention Coordinators


  8:30am-4pm  Registration opens at 8am.            Cost $75 both days, $50 one day


Trainer: Deborah Moore – Youth Work Learning Lab at the School of Social Work - University of Minnesota


Day 1- Designing and Supporting Youth Participation in Community Change Projects


This session will be designed to explore principles, practices and strategies that foster higher levels of youth participation on local community issues.  The session will be designed collaboratively with the Regional Prevention Coordinators to link their learning back to the application for what this will look like with community coalitions. 


Day 2- Participatory Youth Work “101” for Youth Advisors


This session will be targeted to those that work directly with youth in engaging them in local community prevention efforts.  The training session will be customized with feedback from the Regional Prevention Coordinators on areas that need to be strengthened within prevention and youth work.
