Fox School Chess Club Grades 1-3

Want to spark your child's creativity, increase problem-solving skills and promote brain growth?  Then join the Fox School Chess Club that is now being offered under instruction by International Master (IM) Faik Aleskerov.  He has taught chess for many years in schools, chess camps, and as private lessons.  He has won numerous international tournaments, including being a three-time winner of the  World Youth Championship.

The grades 1-3 class will meet on Mondays from 2:40 to 3:30 in the school library.  Kindergartners will need special permission from the chess instructor.  Class size is limited to 36 students with a minimum of 10 students needed to conduct the class.

Classes begin on September 11th and end on December 11th.  NO CLASSES ON 10/9 or 11/20.

The cost for the 12 week session is $228.  Enrollments will be accepted in the order received.  Scholarships may be available to low-income families upon request.  Depending on the skill level of the student, there may be a low materials fee cost for instructional workbooks.

Dennis A Myers and Associates; P.O. Box 0731; Belmont, CA 94002.  Include the student's name, age, grade, parent's name, email address, and emergency contact phone number and contact's name.  Student application will not be processed without complete information.

Students do not need to how to play chess.  Coach Faik can accommodate students with various skill levels.  At the end of the session there will be a class tournament with prizes at its conclusion. 


Does my child need to bring a chess set?

No.  Chess sets will be provided.

My child is not in the after care program.  Does he go directly to the library when school lets out?

Yes.  He should go to the library where the instructor will be waiting. 

What's the refund policy?

If a student attends only the first class, then there will be a 100% refund minus the service fee.

If a student attends only the first two classes, then there will be a 50% refund minus the service fee.

If a student attends more than the first two classes, then there will not be a refund or proration of tuition.
