That's Not How I Remember It!
That’s Not How I Remember It! A show about the different ways people remember the same dang sh*t going down.
Whether it’s a group of friends, co-workers, family, or members of the same spin-class, this is an improv show that explores the many different ways people recall the same event. We ask the audience to write down some sh*t that has gone down in their life recently that involves, affected, or was witnessed by multiple people. This could be anything from the La Croix getting removed from the break room at work or someone taking a poo in the middle of a house party, to Aunt Lydia’s Christmas breakdown. Every show, we’ll loosely base our improv off an experience we pick at random.
After briefly interviewing the audience member who wrote the event, we start the show with a “base group scene,” where all improv team members are on stage shooting the breeze. Once someone brings up the fateful act, we will improv different versions of the same experience as team members take turns “remembering” the event differently. The stories are told through flashbacks, with occasional interjections, guidance, and/ or details via tag outs back to the base group scene. What a recipe for fun improv!
