Dev/Mission – Summer 2019 Programs Graduation

Please join us to celebrate the accomplishments of 38 young adults from SF and the Bay Area as they complete our STEM Summer Pre-Apprenticeship Occupational Skills Training and Opportunities for All STEM Internships this summer.

We provide technology instruction to transitional-age youth, ages 16-24, in the following competencies:

  • A+ Training: 1st crucial step to advance IT Certifications

  • IoT: Internet of Things where youth learn how to build hardware/coding projects with electronics, sensors, led lights and much more

  • Intro to Programming: Learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as youth build their own website, web app or mobile app.

  • Critical Career Skills: Youth learn about Job Readiness, business communication, professionalism, and team-building projects.

We have also launched our Mayor’s Office London Breed’s STEM Internship Program bringing Youth from various SF High Schools. Internships have varied from social media, data entry, admin assistant, blogger, Microsoft Projects, receptionist, LinkedIn, outreach and helping out in our main office. Youth have been placed from the different communities that we serve: Mission, Western Addition, Bayview Hunters Point and Visitacion Valley. The program is unique in that all internships have taken place exclusively onsite in affordable housing communities (Valencia Gardens, Robert B Pitts).

This graduation is an opportunity to honor students for their hard work in the presence of their families and friends. Speakers will include partners from the tech industry and members of the graduation class, and internship placements will also be announced.
