Annual Spring Revue: Fragment

Join us for a season finale featuring all new works by nationally recognized choreographers.

Urbanity Dance will produce its season finale, Fragment, featuring its Professional Company. This production will be the first in the organization’s history to feature solely new works by acclaimed choreographers Shura Baryshnikov (Brown University, Doppelgänger Dance Collective), Chantal DoucettMike Esperanza (Peridance, BARE Dance Company), Andy and Dionne Noble (NobleMotion Dance),   Jenna Pollack and Jacob Regan

For this end-of-season spring revue, the artists will explore their own interpretation of the term “fragment”—sharing their understanding of how bits and pieces can coalesce into a more universal experience. In our increasingly divided world, the word can be greeted with a variety of interpretations. “So much of society is fragmented...we are interested in pulling at these strings and unraveling people’s narratives to find some commonality and shared experience.” (Andy & Dionne Noble)

Urbanity Dance Founder and Director Betsi Graves states,“What is so special about this show is that for the first time in our history, every single piece of repertory is an originally commissioned work. These are six world premieres choreographed by incredibly prolific talents across the U.S... I think this opens up streams of creative possibility, since Urbanity dancers are known for uniquely diverse qualities and dance backgrounds.”
