Cal Band Alumni Reunion 2018
Calling All Cal Band Alumni!
Our traditional biennial reunion dinner and presentation of the Tony Martinez Award will be held the night before Big Game in nearby Emeryville. All alumni are invited to join in the festivities. This is a non-performing event.
The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Tony Martinez Memorial Service Award, which was created by the Cal Band Alumni Association in the mid-1990s to recognize Band Alumni who have made long-term, significant contributions to the Cal Band and/or to band alumni programs. The award is named for Tony Martinez (clarinet ’49, Drum Major ’51), whose lifelong relationship with the Cal Band is credited with helping the Band raise its stature to national significance.
This year's award recipient is Barbara Goodson (mello '77). Barbara has been contributing significant time and energy to benefit both the Cal Band and the CBAA for several decades. Barbara served as the Band’s Development Director, assisting in the initiation of the Cal Band Endowment to help stabilize its funding future. Along with volunteering her time as an end-zone director to the Cal Band, Barbara has held multiple leadership positions on the CBAA council and has played a key role in organizing many CBAA events and workshops. With her continued connection and volunteerism to the Cal Band and the CBAA, Barbara is truly deserving of this distinguished award.
Please join us in celebrating Barbara while reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones. The Cal Band stops by for an extended performance and has been known to ask previous Student Directors to conduct a song!

2. How do I become a member?
Visit our membership page: calbandalumni.berkeley.edu/membership
We have a few different options and would love to have you as a sustaining member!
3. The price for the reunion seems high.
We are charging only what we need in order to break even. We give our sustaining members a price break because of their support of CBAA.
4. Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
No, but an ID is required to purchase alcohol.
5. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Complimentary valet parking is available.
6. Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
7. Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. Please kindly let us know of the new name as soon as you know. If the new person should pay at a higher rate due to their membership status, they will need to pay the difference.
8. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, but it's a good idea to have your email confirmation ready on your phone.
9. Why do we have to pay a fee?
Eventbrite charges a fee of 2.5% of the ticket cost plus $0.99 per ticket sold. This fee covers the services that Eventbrite provides and reduces the amount of administrative work the organizer must complete.
10. What is the refund policy?
We apologize, but there are no refunds. If you are unable to attend, you may treat your ticket price as a tax-deductible donation as CBAA is a 501c3 nonprofit.
