Emergency Bags for Seniors
If you're a senior living in San Francisco Supervisorial District 7 (Sup. Norman Yee's district), ask yourself this question: If a major earthquake hits and your building is so damaged that must evacuate, will you be ready?
The Inner Sunset/Golden Gate Heights Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) wants to help you be ready! Thanks to a grant from Sup. Yee's Participatory Budgeting program, we will be giving away 50 free "go-bags" to seniors in District 7.
What's a go-bag? It's a small backpack containing some essential emergency supplies such as a container for a week's worth of medication, a waterproof storage container for you to carry important information like family and medical contacts or prescriptions, a foil emergency blanket, a whistle to call for help if you need it, and suggestions for other items you may want to include.
So when the Big One hits, you'll be better prepared. If you're in District 7, age 65 or older, and would like a go-bag, please register on this site so we can contact you when they're ready. One go-bag per household, please.
Please note: Registering does not guarantee you a go-bag. We'll have to confirm District 7 residency and senior status. We'll let you know when and where you can pick up your go-bag, sometime in the next few months, we hope. Delivery to your home is not included, though exceptions may be made.
