Yazamiya Meetup - June 2018 (Zell, Vaunt)

Join us for an evening of networking and brainstorming. This time we combine promising startups with learnings from spectacular failures!

  • Zell startup competition - you are the judge!
We are honored to host again the annual competition of Zell Entrepreneurship Program, the most successful startups program in Israel which produced over 100 ventures in 17 years. Eight startups will be coming to California to compete for YOUR vote to be crowned the 2018 Zell Most Promising Startup. Past winners went on to great success including Wibiya, Gifts Project, Bizzabo, Wibbitz, Astralink, and Roomer. Realface, which presented at last year's meetup, just got acquired by Apple.

  • How to burn $1.4 BILLION dollars?
On April 19 Intel announced shutting down Vaunt, its ambitious smart glasses project. It has spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars in the development of the product which was just about to get launched. Itai Vonshak, who was the VP of Product in charge of the project, will share lessons that can be learned from this astonishing story. Itai will speak about mistakes entrepreneurs should avoid in evaluating product-market-fit risks and opportunities.
