Startup Workshop: The Finer Points of Raising Money

Program

This is a workshop for all faculty, post-docs, and graduate students at the University of Minnesota

Join us for a free startup workshop and networking event, hosted by the Office for Technology Commercialization (OTC) Venture Center. This is a unique opportunity to hear from UMN faculty and startup executives about their experiences raising money for their startups

At the event, you will:

  • Gain insight from peer faculty on their experience in raising investment capital for their startup. Was it what they expected when they first started down the path? What advice do they have for their peers?

  • Hear from startup executives about their experiences identifying angel investors in the industry, working with venture capital companies, and learning how to pitch a new technology to highlight its market potential.

  • Get answers to specific questions that you might have

The UMN has launched over 120 companies since the Venture Center was formed in late 2006. Faculty, post docs, and graduate students have been involved in these companies, and you have an opportunity to hear about their experiences in raising money.

Complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres are provided.
